This Regency era ca 1812-20 Jacket is made from a blue / white cotton similar to a ticking. It has an M notched collar, it hangs open in front with 6 oversized covered buttons 2 1/2 inches across. It has pockets with large flaps sewn into the waist seam in back, the pockets are tan cotton, otherwise the jacket is not lined, although the front panels are faced with the same fabric. OVerall the condition of the fabric is very sturdy, no holes or tears, the coat is hand stitched. It has some stains/spots, the covered buttons seem to be a light weight metal and there is rust around the edges, some minor, some a little more. There were 2 more large buttons one each on the bottom edge of the tails, they have rusted through around the edge, the metal is missing but the fabric remains. It measures 40 inches around the chest, across the back shoulder is 14 7/8, sleeve is 22 1/2, shoulder to front hem is 19 1/2 and base of the neck to bottom of tail is 46 1/2 inches.
