This is an absolutely amazing jacket is approximately 60 years old! Label reads ” Indian Sportswear For Motorcyclists” with an additional tag reading “Made of Genuine Steer Hide Top Grade”. I could not find a size label on the jacket, but it appears to fit like a size 40, possibly 42 or a modern medium see measurements below. This is an incredible collectors item! These are extremely hard to come by, and even harder to find with the original detachable fur collar! If you are a motorcycle enthusiast or Indian motorcycle collector, your collection is not complete until you have this relic. This jacket deserves to be encased in glass and hoisted onto the wall of a museum or enthusiast garage. I also think this would make excellent period correct wardrobe for a 1950s / 60s film, so if you are a wardrobe designer or work in film production, bookmark this beauty! . Indian Motorcycle jackets of the 50s are among the rarest golden age motorcycle jackets out there, and they are few and far between. Just imagine the stories this jacket would tell if it could speak. This incredible vintage jacket is perfectly worn in showing beautiful signs of age and vintage wear to the leather. The jacket features a lightly insulated red quilted nylon interior and detachable fur collar. This jacket appears to be very dark brown or black. The leather shows some nice signs of vintage age and perfectly aged distress, giving it tons of character. The articulation seams by the shoulder blade area are designed with built in reflective fabric, probably the first of its kind. The flash photos make this reflective fabric look lighter in color than it is in person. It has a semi reflective olive green color to it. All zippers are by Talon, the premier zipper maker of this era. All zippers work properly. The red lining of the jacket has some typical discoloration (darker areas) from age and wear. It appears that at some point, some of the interior lining seams were restitched. There is also an area on the upper part of the right sleeve in the shoulder area where the leather has become a bit thinner and has a wear hole which was patched from the inside making it nearly invisible.
