Levi Strauss 1890s RARE Spring Bottom Pants Blue Jeans Levi’s Denim Mining
An incredible find from the old mining town of Leadville, Colorado; A very rare original pair of brown Levi Strauss Spring Bottom Pants. Found in the attic of an old mining shed/cabin, these pants were likely untouched for over 120 years. The Spring Bottom Pants were produced by Levi Strauss & Co. From 1889 until 1911. By 1900, there were more than 4,000 miners present in Leadville. The pants are in remarkable condition for their age – a testament to low humidity, high altitude, and luck. The pants do show some noticeable wear, especially at the knees and underneath the rear pockets. There are a few scattered holes – underneath the rear pockets closer to the seam. There is also some discoloration and staining present in the same area. The pants are in exceptional condition and the material is still very strong and pliable and could be worn to this day without issue. The waist measurement reads 36 on the rear label, the length measurement is quite faded but perhaps is 33. A once in a lifetime opportunity to own these rare Levi Strauss pants, worn in a historic Colorado mining town. A truly significant piece of Americana from the last place Doc Holliday was a law man.
