Hand woven linen fabric French farmer’s work shirt/smock; a heavy weight linen with natural slubs in the weave. Pull-over style with 3 button placket. Nice fine stand collar and buttoned cuffs. Hand embroidered Monogram “M R” on the front. Beautiful hand smocking detail at the cuffs & back shoulder yoke; the sleeves have pleating & smocking at the cuffs to create a blouson sleeve effect. There is pleating on the back shoulder yoke. Ll the seams are nicely finished off flat french seams. There is only one side seam. The shirt is made of whole cloth. Selvage end at the bottom. Mother of pearl buttons. Selvage on the bottom. Slightly faded beautifully with time, amazing patina. Condition – This lovely textiles shows signs of time and use. Some patina spots on back. Some discolorations due to storage and age. Over all its in VERY good order for its age. Please review the pictures with zoom feature.
