Vintage Swaine Adeney Brigg black Umbrella Made in England for Henry Poole of Savile Row whangee handle. Brigg is THE name in quality men’s umbrellas. If you’re not familiar with them, it’s definitely worth doing a little research. They are known the world over for making the finest umbrellas available. This one is tricky to date, but if I had to guess I’d say it were from the 1960s. It was made specially for the Savile Row tailors Henry Poole as it marked on the rolled gold collar on the handle. From crook to ferrule it measures 36–a classic length for a gentleman’s umbrella. The canopy is in excellent condition with only the slight patina of age, but no rips, pulls or holes. The keeper strap is in place and secured with a abalone button. The ribs and hardware are all in excellent shape as well. The only flaw on this umbrella is a small chip on the handle, which in no way detracts from its beauty and usability. The photos should speak for themselves, but please feel free to ask if you have any questions and I will respond promptly.
