This handwoven Chimayo Sport Jacket was my father-in-laws when he was a young man. He was born in 1923, so it was probably made in the middle 1930’s. The tag shows the company name of La Azteca and we believe this to be a 100% woven wool jacket but the tag doesn’t give us the fabric or content as the sleeves are corduroy. The jacket is in remarkable condition with just the minor issues that I have noted and shown in close-up pictures. While the pull is missing on the zipper it operates fine and a new tab could be added easily. The jacket has two small pockets and one of those is open and the other sports a zipper that also functions just fine. The two belt fittings with the bright metal buckles help highlight this fine jacket. While it does have a couple of mended areas they just really do not show when the jacket is on and it is really a beautiful item and a great collector piece.
